Daisy, a Rescue, The Finished Custom Pet Portrait
Many small brush strokes later, this is the finished painting of Daisy, a beloved rescue dog. I wanted to catch the reflective light in her eyes and the lovely texture of her pinkish nose. When I have a lot of detail in the face as I do in this one–I prefer not to have too much detail in parts of the painting that are further back, much the way a limited focus photo works. I feel that too much detail in a painting can get distracting. The final painting is 12″ x 12″.
