One of my very favorite things to paint are eyes–and a Chihuahua has wonderful large eyes that are somewhat prominent and round. That means they have lots of reflected light–and if a painting doesn’t imply that, then the eyes just won’t be convincing. This is a detail from my portrait of Bentley.
