Finished Portrait of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Named Mack
Mack the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel by Hope Lane, 11″ x 14, acrylic on archival panel
I loved painting Mack with those big soulful eyes looking straight out at you. But I breathed a big sigh of relief when the background pattern was completed. While I love painting complex fur (like the flip of Mack’s plumey white tail), painting patterns and type are a bit more daunting. Still here we are at the end of the painting, and I and my client are happy with how it turned out.
Awww, adorable!

That’s truly a wonderful painting Cindy. Please promise that some day you’ll teach me the brush technique for doing fur. I’m really envious. Hope all is well.
Hi Tom, I was commenting on a ‘friend’s’ painting, it’s not mine. All is great thanks and I hope the same at your house. We should have a paint day sometime.
