Finished Portrait of Molly the Havanese

Molly the Havanese, 9″ x 12″ acrylic by Hope Lane, www.hopelaneart.com

This is the completed painting that I did of Molly. I ended up replacing the knee of the person she was sitting on in the original photo with a rocky ledge and a nice deep green outdoors background. With any Havanese, the challenge is to get the texture of their fur just right–and they do vary. (I know because I have one). Some dogs are silkier and some have a curlier cottony texture. Molly was a bit of both. She was such fun to paint, and I know her portrait was a hit given what her human said…

    You are so talented! I believed this is most realistic painting of a Havanese that I have ever seen. I thought it was a photograph at first.

    What I wouldn’t give for your talent. They say everyone has a hidden talent. Well I’m here to tell you…. I am 80 years old and I STILL HAVE NO FOUND IT.😉

      There you go Linda. Why didn’t I think of that? Of course Judie wouldn’t say that, she will say I should train them to behave better. Love you Judie but , I CANT DO THAT. Besides they would really be mad and wouldn’t cuddle with me anymore😳😂😂😂😂
