I completed this painting by adjusting the background color to be more of a celadon. And of course, I fine tuned all the furry details. This is just a small painting–5″ x 7″ but it’s surprising how much detail you can put in such a small space when you use that teensy brush.

I really enjoyed my opportunity to paint Morgan a second time, several years after the original portrait. Cavaliers have very human eyes and they make it a great deal of fun to paint their portraits.

Update: Christmas is coming fast and my commission list for completed portraits by the holiday is full.
