First Stage of Wolf Painting
I got started by laying down a background tint of raw umber and then transferred my drawing using white transfer paper. Working in oils, I started by roughing in the misty forest background and then went on to placing the first colors in the wolf’s fur. I want the wolf to be warm against a cool toned background so I’m using a warm purple in the areas my white fur will be. With the white lines still showing through–I ought to call this “Ghost Wolf”.
