Celebrating Florida Dogs With Latte the Havanese

As some of you know–I live in coastal Florida and this week has certainly been challenging due to Hurricane Irma. The thing about evacuating–you start to take stock of all the things you value and what is most important to take with you because everything else may not be there when you get back. Sure we took food, water and some financial docs–but most importantly, we took our little dog Max who we love dearly. It’s hard for some to understand people who will put themselves in harms way rather than leave their pets when a hurricane’s coming. But I get it and I’m just thankful we had a place to go that was safely inland with him.

So the painting I’m posting this week is a Florida dog–a handsome Havanese named Latte who’s human family has been digging out after the storm in Central Florida.
