A Special Painting For A Father

A few years ago, I painted a portrait for a family that comes to mind this Fathers Day. It was a gift from three children to their father, who’s beloved German Shepherd had just been diagnosed with ALS and would soon be gone. The father and the dog would hike the mountains together, and they wanted to create a memory of those special times for when the dog would be gone. Their story really touched me, and  painting this for them is one of the paintings I’m proudest of.
